Plus Size Women: Shoes Support The Dress And You

by Andrea Dilea

Cinderella may have had the most beautiful evening gown but it was her lovely glass slippers that really shined at the ball. Evening gowns are resplendent and radiant on their own but when worn with the perfect pair of 'slippers' the look is bewitching and divine. A dress cannot pull off the look all by itself. That is why you need to be decked out in glamour from head to toe.

The right pair of shoes speaks volumes. The shoes you choose for a social occasion should be in the same color family as your dress or slightly darker (but never lighter). This is a general rule but plenty of fashion rules can be broken with no fear of the fashion police coming after you!

What will always looks good and tends to add some spice and glitter to your look are metallic gold, silver or bronze leather shoes. These are particularly attractive with sexier gowns that have a side or back slit. Going a bit further, you can assuage your creative side by donning shoes that have some beads or some glitter. However, you need to be careful here and not over do it. A little is often enough.

Great news for plus size ladies - there are plenty of styles of shoes for you! First of all, heels are worn for dancing and social events - the glam factor events. If you can't tolerate a heel, find a shoe that has at least an inch or more. Plus size petite ladies should look at height as beneficial to them since their date might be taller.

In your new elegant evening gown and coordinating shoes, you want to make sure you look feminine and your best. Try wearing a pair of sandals, slingbacks, or a pair of open-toed pumps to compliment your outfit during the summer. Shoes should pull your look together but not distract from your dress in any way.

If you wear shoes that are strapped and open toed, and you choose not to wear stockings or panty hose, you must be sure that you have your feet in the best shape possible. A pumice stone will work wonders to smooth out any rough skin you have on your heels. It is a lot of fun to have a pedicure done professionally. However you can give one to yourself if you prefer. Trim your toenails first, then add polish to each toenail. The polish can be of the same shade that you are wearing on your fingernails, but if you prefer, you can have fun, and use any other color of your choice. If you are not happy with the looks of your feet, then by all means keep them covered. You have reached your goal when you are feeling confident, beautiful and sexy. You want to look like the beautiful woman that you are!
